Chocolate Cake (Ethel’s)

1 ½ cups granulated sugar
½ “ butter
1 ¾ “ flour
4 egg whites in separately
2 oz. Bakers chocolate dissolved into 5 tbsp. Boiling water
cooked slightly ½ cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
Vanilla

Cream butter, add sugar gradually and cream. Must be fluffy + light.
Add the 4 egg yolks separately and heat.
Add dissolved chocolate.
Add flour and milk alternately.
Add baking powder + vanilla.
Fold in beaten egg whites.
350° Bake in moderate oven until finished. (It leaves side of pans)
Two cake time.
